Breaking a nearly yearlong self imposed blogging silence, Don Bernitt today resurfaced from places unknown for the sole purpose of addressing the horrendous events that are taking place in his childhood home of State College, Pa.
“For now I am angry and I am saddened” offered Bernitt has he spoke to the actions of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky who, “has been exposed as a sick, evil and deviant human being who for years preyed on the innocence of youth that had been entrusted to him.” “He is possessed of evil” said Bernitt as he spoke to the actions of Sandusky. “He spun his web of evil and then trapped and fed upon the children of God.” “For judgment is not mine I acknowledge, but woe to they who hurt the children of the Lord.” added Bernitt.
“In what has become the darkest hour in the history of Penn State and the community of State College it is clear that the vial perpetrated by Sandusky and the web of his evil doings were not done in total darkness and instead his crimes against humanity were ignorantly ignored by those whose very core responsibilities are to take care of the children entrusted to them”
“There is nothing that can be done to change this, children have been harmed. We can only hope that their lives have not been destroyed forever by the actions of this man and the inaction's of those very men who were in the position to protect them.”
“Finally,” said Bernitt, “while it is clear that Penn Staters around the world are shamed and embarrassed, we must vow today that we will do everything and anything to treat, comfort and protect the victims of this crime and then we will do everything and anything to hold responsible and punish regardless of their positions or years of service in State College and at Penn State all those who whiffed the stench of Sandusky and did nothing about it."
When asked why the call for such harsh actions Bernitt responded,
Because.....
We Are…Penn State!
